POLICY AND FAQS

Prerequisites

  • Members must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Members must have a valid VISA, AMEX, Mastercard or Discover credit card on file to receive club orders and benefits. The primary credit card on file will be charged for Wine Club Releases on Wednesday of the Wine Club Release Week, the day your wines become available for pickup.
  • By placing an order, you represent to us that you are at least 21 years old and the person to whom you are directing delivery is at least 21 years old.
  • By completing your Wine Club checkout, you are acknowledging that you have read and understand the terms of Dude DeWalt’s Wine Club Policy.

Wine Club is released quarterly (January, April, July, and October). Pickup club members are notified two (2) weeks, and then again two (2) days, in advance, of each pick up by email. Please make sure we have your correct email on file and please, check your junk email and mark us as a safe sender.

There is no cost to join and no annual membership fee.

Dude DeWalt Cellars, LLC, requires its Members to satisfy a two-shipment minimum commitment to the Wine Club. A Member may cancel prior to two shipments, however, a $75 cancellation fee will be charged to the Member’s card on file upon cancellation. After a Member has received two shipments no cancellation charges apply.

Your card will be charged Wednesday of Wine Club Release week, the first day your Wine Club Release becomes available for pick up.

Charges vary for each Wine Club Release depending on sales tax, shipping charges (if any), and wine selection. Please see the “Club” section on our website for further details.

Wine can be damaged by exposure to extreme weather, such as extreme heat or freezing temperatures. We may place a temporary hold on orders being shipped to states affected by such extreme weather conditions. To track the shipping status of your order, go to refer to the tracking number on the email confirmation you received. It is recommended that you order your wine to be shipped via an expedited service. The less time your wine spends in transit, the less the chance of it being damaged.

In order to offer an exclusive experience to our members, we are unable to extend member benefits or member pricing to non-members.

Members should notify the Tasting Room staff in advance when friends or family are picking up for them.

Members must either elect to either pickup their Wine Club Release or receive them by mail. Don’t worry, you can always change your preference up until 10 days prior to Wine Club Release, just give us a call to update our records. Members have until the end of the subsequent Wine Pickup Release Week to either pick up their orders from our tasting room or receive shipment from our carrier.

Due to limited space in our facility Dude DeWalt Cellars (DDC) is unable to hold your wine shipments for extended periods of time. If you have not picked up your wine or made other arrangements with us to receive your wine by the end of the Wine Release Week subsequent to the shipment you have not picked up, DDC will begin issuing a $10 per month storage fee per order to your card on file. If, for any reason, the storage fee cannot be charged to your credit card on file (expiration, cancellation, etc.) and you have not otherwise made arrangements with us to facilitate the receipt of your wine by you, we will consider your wine abandoned and move it to our Donations Department where it will be donated. After three (3) months of storage fees being applied, Dude DeWalt will consider your wine abandoned and move it to our Donations Department where it will be donated. There are no refunds, all sales are final.

Example: April, 2023 Wine Release Week is April 19th through April 22nd. On Wednesday, April 19th your wine becomes available for pickup. Let’s say July 2023 Wine Release Week is July 19th through July 22nd. You have until Saturday, July 22nd to either pick up your April Wine Release or make arrangements with us to ship the wine to you. If no arrangements are made, DDC will begin issuing a $10 per month storage fee per order to your card on file. If you have not picked up your wine or made arrangements by August 23rd, an additional $10 per month storage fee per order to your card on file will be made, and so on, for a maximum of three (3) months of charges. If, you have accrued three (3) months of storage charges, or for any reason the storage fee cannot be charged to your card on file, we will, after 30 days, consider your wine abandoned and move it to our Donations Department where it will be donated.

Club shipments require an adult signature at the time of delivery. For this reason, we cannot ship to a P.O. Box and strongly recommend shipping to an address where an adult 21 years or older is available to sign for the package.

You will be emailed tracking information once the carrier scans your package. These details will be sent to the email you provided in the shipping address field. Check to be sure that it isn’t sent to your spam or junk inboxes. Please check directly with the carrier for the most accurate delivery estimate so you can ensure someone is present to sign for your wine.

Our primary carrier is UPS. To best manage your deliveries, we strongly recommend you sign up for UPS My Choice. It is free to sign up and allows you to request more services to simplify delivery, such as vacation holds or appointment delivery through this program, which only the recipient can select.

The carrier will make three delivery attempts before returning the package to us. If you know you will not be able to sign at the time of delivery, or if you receive a notice the package missed
its attempted delivery, please reach out directly to UPS customer service at 1-800-742-5877. You may be able to:

  • Arrange to pick the package up at a local facility. Please note, carriers will only hold packages for 5 days.
  • Have the package sent to an alternate address. Please note, changing the delivery address will incur an additional expense.

It is your obligation to update account information at least ten (10) days before the shipment. Dude DeWalt Cellars is not liable for costs for misdirected shipments and delivery difficulties may result in additional shipping charges.

A shipped order cannot be re-routed or adjusted once it has left our facility.

Changes cannot be made to shipping orders once we have processed.

Members are responsible for all shipping charges including those incurred due to misdirected and/or returned shipments.

Please note that if your wine is returned to us, you will be charged for the cost of the return shipping. If you wish us to re-ship to you, there will be an additional cost to reship.

You have until Saturday, July 22nd to either pick up your April Wine Shipment or make arrangements with us to reship the wine to you. If no arrangements are made, DDC will begin issuing a $10 per month storage fee per order to your card on file. If you have not picked up your wine or made arrangements by August 23rd, an additional $10 per month storage fee per order to your card on file will be made, and so on, for a maximum of three (3) months of charges. Memberships may be placed “on hold”. To request a hold, you may email admin@dudedewalt.com. Placing your membership on hold also means that your benefits that you enjoy at Dude DeWalt Cellars are also “on hold” until the membership is resumed by you. After 2 quarters, we will autocancel your membership for you, no questions asked.

Wine Club Memberships may be canceled without charge once the two club shipment minimum requirement has been fulfilled. Email us at admin@dudedewalt.com. Requests for cancellation of membership must be made at least 10 days prior to Club order processing. Cancellations of shipments or memberships after that time cannot be honored after that date as they are in process.

Of course, but we discourage shipping wine as a surprise gift, as packages containing alcohol require the signature of someone over 21 at the time of delivery. When gifting wine, we ask that you communicate with the recipient so they can expect a package from Dude DeWalt Cellars that needs a signature. We also ask that you provide an email address for the recipient, so they can receive tracking information and best prepare for a successful delivery. We will happily include a personalized gift note if you pass your desired message on to us!
